I'm traveling back to Michigan on Saturday to visit with family and friends and I'm super excited!!!! I haven't been home since Christmas, and I'm itching to get back. Joe will not be traveling with me cause he'll be on set of the feature he's shooting (my disappointment is slightly mollified by my pride in him.) Anyways, I love making lists so here are my "things to do while in MI."
Caseville! - Take part in all the best up north activities like beach laying, lake floating, pepper playing, bonfir-ing, horseshoe throwing, hammock reading, maybe even bike riding. Like I mentioned, I haven't been back to Caseville since 2011 and I'm really looking forward to it.
Meet the new guys!!! - Many of my dear friends had babies in the last few months, and I'm gonna meet three new boys next week. I've seen pics, but I'm gonna squeeze the hell out of all of them when I get to Detroit. My empty womb and I are a bit baby crazy these days. Joe and I are not trying to procreate yet cause we're just not ready, but damn do I LOVE babies.
Party it up! - Not everyone could make it to this lavish affair in Australia, so my mom is throwing a little hootenanny to celebrate Pat and Steph's marriage. She hired a dj and invented a specialty cocktail so it should be a good time!
Take lots of pics especially portraits! - I spend time with fam so rarely now it's important to make the most of it, and documenting is part of that. Sammy and Luna are growing up soooo fast and I only get to see them in the flesh like twice a year. Also, I've been a slacker about photographing life these days, and if I don't get on it my 2013 "yearbook" is gonna be totes empty.
Stay Positive!!! - When my family gets together, sometimes we can turn into a band of harpies. We stay up too late, drink way too much and basically rub each others nerves. It's important for me to remember, that I control my mood and my attitude, being pissed off and sulky is unnecessary. I just need to learn to remember that in the moment. I am resolved to have a good time, avoid conflict and live in the moment.
